Last week the House defeated the Old Forest amendment by a vote of 35 to 50 (15 absent). This bill, which received bi-partisan support, would have set aside 10% of our state forest lands as protected old forest areas. Here’s how everyone voted.
While current Dist. 37 Representative, Todd Huston voted against the amendment, Indiana’s top biologists have advised that to ensure the viability of Indiana’s native forest ecosystems, significant areas of the State Forests should be set aside to become old growth forests. If given the chance to be your Representative, I would vote to protect our ecosystems and preserve our environment for generations to come! How would you vote?
